Credit Transfer and Financial Aid

Arclight Institute is structured to make financial aid as accessible as possible. Each program is comprised of two 3-credit courses for a total of 6 credits for summer study. This structure maximizes the likelihood that institutional financial aid can be applied.

Consult with your study abroad office, registrar, and financial aid office to determine the policies of your home institution. In many cases, federal and institutional aid can defray part or all of the program cost.

If you need further assistance, please reach out. Our staff are available to help you navigate the process.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Application Process

  • Can I use financial aid for this program?

Often, students can apply federal and institutional aid to the program cost. We provide documentation and support to help you navigate the process with your study abroad office and financial aid team.

  • What additional costs should I budget for?

You will purchase your airfare from your home country to Frankfurt, Germany, and back home from Paris, France.

Weekday breakfasts plus 2-3 group dinners are included in the program fee. Other meals and snacks are on your own. You will have access to cafes, restaurants, and even grocery stores so you can prepare lunches and dinners in the chateau’s chef’s kitchen.

You may want to budget for independent exploration and travel during your free time, personal items like toiletries, and classroom supplies like a laptop, notebook, and writing utensils.

Most European businesses accept credit and debit cards, but it’s helpful to carry some local currency for small purchases. The budget calculator on this page can help you estimate your total cost, and we are happy to answer general questions about possible expenses.

  • May I enroll in more than one program in the same summer?

No. Arclight summer programs run concurrently. However, students are more than welcome to attend in subsequent summers during their undergraduate and graduate study.

  • What airports do I need to fly into and out of?

You will fly from your home country to Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA), arriving in time for the beginning of the in-country portion of the program.

You will fly home from Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) at the conclusion of our final in-country learning experience.
